About Us

Second generation wood flooring company that’s roots started back in 1984. Shawn Bones, owner of Bones Wood Floors, grew up working summer breaks for his father, Larry at Bones Hardwood Flooring in Aspen, Colorado. Shawn, along with his brother Levi, learned the the skills of installing, sanding and finishing luxury hardwood flooring in several high end homes (such as Don Johnson, Kurt Russell, Goldie Hawn, and other celebrities). Shawn learned to work with many domestic USA milled woods such as Oak, Maple and Hickory. The dry climate and high altitude presented a variety of challenges for them to overcome. This taught Shawn from an early age needed skills to carry on in his career.

Shawn then took over the family business in Aspen for a a few years, learning more ins and outs of the industry. In 2005 he moved to Maui, Hawaii starting his own hardwood flooring business and mastering how to work with exotic woods such as Koa, Eucalyptus and Teak in a very humid climate. This gave Shawn a new set of skills and it’s easy to say he has perfected working in beautiful homes, doing extremely custom jobs with very unique woods.

Shawn and his wife, Brittany, and son River are excited for each new project. Shawn’s passion for creating luxury wood flooring hasn’t diminished Shawn is excited to use his craftsmanship into new aspects of technology. Using cutting edge products, the most up to date services, and leading trends in the hardwood flooring industry along with knowledge, skills, and professionalism Shawn is able to assist you in making a well informed decision. When Shawn’s not working, he’s spending time with his wife Brittany and their little boy River. He also loves to fish, surf, golf and visit his family in California/Texas. His 2 brothers, Levi and Dylon also own hardwood flooring business in Austin, Texas also where Shawn manufactures wood flooring. Shawn is a big family man, honest and hardworking.
